About

This is the personal tumblelog of Dean Cruse. Mostly stuff I think is cool, and the occasional bit from me.

This is also the *temporary* home of DC Marketing, my marketing consultancy for tech startups.

Meet me at SXSW 2010 (http://sxsw.com)

Bio

I am the VP Marketing at Zenoss, a maker of commercial open source IT monitoring software.

Beyond Zenoss, I'm a serial startup marketing executive and CEO of DC Marketing, a consultancy that provides marketing leadership for early-stage technology companies. You can check out the details via the link to my LinkedIn profile on the right over there.

I am also an aspiring furniture maker, 4th-generation Texan, and lover of family, music, Internets and perfect tacos. Oh, and string.

Make no little plans. They have no magic to stir men’s blood and probably themselves will not be realized. Make big plans; aim high in hope and work, remembering that a noble, logical diagram once recorded will never die, but long after we are gone will be a living thing, asserting itself with ever-growing insistency. Remember that our sons and grandsons are going to do things that would stagger us. Let your watchword be order and your beacon beauty. Think big.
