Guest post on Jenniger Leggio’s ZDNet blog by Caroline Dangson of IDC on enterpise adoption of social media. There are still two camps out there on social media adoption in business, those that trust in its effectiveness to engage, and those organizations that are still not sold. For the latter, does this “organizational social anxiety” stem from what Caroline says is a lack of executive trust in employees (the majority of which use social media for business of their accord)? Interesting point of view.
I agree that if you’re not using these tools today to engage with your customers and prospects, then it’s way past time to jump in or get left behind. As Caroline says: “Fear comes from inexperience. Failure comes from not trying.”
